As crazy as it sounds, getting family photos done is always so tough for us. Finding outfits, picking a location & time, and all that comes with a session is something I put off often. Before these photos on the top of Sassafras Mountain, our last family photos were in Boston in April 2018!
Thankfully, a few years ago, through Tuesday’s Together Greenville, I met Devin (D. Hayman Photography). She has a calm about her that is unreal. She got amazing shots of Mila (which in itself is a massive undertaking) and managed to get shots of me not making one of my crazy faces (see this post for reference). She second shot for me and killed it so I was not shocked when I got back our family photos and loved them all.
Don’t get me wrong, I love having family photos but I am more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it. I think it’s important for me and my family to get in front of the camera so I know what my clients feel when they are in front of my camera. So when I say “I know this is awkward” or reassure you when your kiddo is having a meltdown that it’s ok and I got the shot it’s because I’ve been there.
Thank you Devin for making the trek to the top of a mountain and for capturing so many beautiful shots of my little family.
